The wonderful thing about naval warfare is that the ammunition didn’t just disappear if it missed its intended target. Rather it would show up quite well in the form of fountains of spray known as ‘plumes’. They’re great for intimidating your opponent! More importantly, the mass of white spray indicates a good place to aim – open fire!

These plumes are great for representing those massive artillery shells missing their mark but still making a terrible impression onto your enemy!
